Chard in Almond Sauce
Ingredients
1 can of Chard
1 Handful of almonds
1 Handful of pine nuts
2 Garlic cloves
Flour
Milk
Olive oil
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : Place the chard with its liquid in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until well heated.
Step 2 : Meanwhile, crush the almonds and pine nuts using a food processor or a mortar and pestle until you obtain a thick paste.
Step 3 : In a casserole, slice the garlic and sauté in olive oil, being careful not to burn them.
Step 4 : Add the flour to the casserole and sauté for one minute, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
Step 5 : Then, add the crushed almonds and pine nuts, stirring and cooking for a few more minutes to blend the flavors well.
Step 6 : To thicken the sauce, pour in a splash of milk along with some of the chard liquid, stirring until you get a creamy texture.
Step 7 : Drain the chard and place it in another casserole.
Step 8 : Carefully, pour the almond sauce over the chard, making sure they do not break.
